Classroom Coach (6 weeks)

Online Format

Classroom Coach is a comprehensive classroom assessment that reflects new science about learning, is compatible with all curricula, and provides an easy-to-use classroom materials checklist. This online learning event provides learners with hands-on experience in observing, recording, and evaluating preschool classroom quality. Weekly, learners complete live observation assignments and receive individual feedback from their facilitator. This learning event also provides comprehensive discussions and quizzes for learners to gain knowledge and understanding of each Classroom Coach item.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this learning event, learners will be able to:

1. Use data collection techniques to gather evidence in a preschool classroom.
2. Write objective evidence.
3. Score each item reliably using collected evidence.

Learner Requirements — Tools and Technology:

Learners will need access to a computer with sound and internet access to complete weekly assignments. It is recommended to use the Google Chrome internet browser when navigating through the course.

Learners will need access to a preschool classroom to complete discussion and Try It Out assignments.

Learner Requirements — Attendance and Grades:

Learners must complete all assignments within the course timeframe. This includes weekly learning units, reading assignments, Check My Understanding quizzes, discussions, and Try It Out assignments.

Learners must pass each Check My Understanding with a minimum score of 80% and achieve an overall course score of 80% or higher.

Important Registration Information

1. HighScope offers full refunds to learners who withdraw from a course five or more business days prior to the start date. No refund will be issued to learners who withdraw from the course four or fewer days prior to the start date. Refunds will be issued for learner materials that have been returned in saleable condition.  
2. Please provide learner(s) name(s) and current email address(es) in the order notes on checkout.
3. If paying by PO, please complete online registration for all of your staff/learners, and send in a copy of your web order with your PO to fulfillment@highscope.org.
4. Registration closes two weeks before the learning event starts.
