Data Collectors (multiple positions available!)
HighScope is in need of data collectors for a short-term research project through December 2018. Data collection will be in Grand Rapids, southeast and northern lower Michigan. Responsibilities include conducting child/classroom observations in center-based care and family childcare homes, conducting program staff interviews and entering data into a database. Paid training will be held in August near Romulus, MI. Must also be available for a week of training in Chapel Hill, NC (flight, hotel, and a daily meal stipend will be provided). Qualified candidates will have an Associates Degree in education or a related field, though a BS degree is preferred. 1-2 years' experience in an early childcare setting is also desired. This is a contract position paying $22.00 per hour plus mileage. Technology Manager
We are currently seeking a Technology Manager who will be responsible for developing and managing the organization’s technology strategy with the goal of improving the overall HighScope experience for current and potential partners, and HighScope employees. Some responsibilities include supporting daily technology needs including acquiring and maintaining hardware and software; and using analytical and technical expertise to strengthen HighScope's web presence. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in information science or other technology related field. Research Assistant
We also have an opening a full-time Research Assistant I or II who will collect, coordinate, process, code and enter data for various research projects, conduct child assessments, perform classroom observations, conduct program staff and family interviews and perform related work as required. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field. 1-2 years' of experience in a child care setting is preferred. Grants Specialist
We are currently seeking a Grants Specialist to join our business development team. This individual will be responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to manage grant proposals related to assessment, curriculum, and training. Responsibilities include identifying funding opportunities, developing drafts, assembly and submission of grant requests, letters, proposals, budgets, and supplemental materials. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the field of early childhood education, with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in major grant solicitation and implementation. Must have a BS degree in EC education nonprofit administration, public administration, public policy, child and/or youth development, curriculum development or related field; additional coursework in writing is desired. Must have strong written communication skills; the ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals and a high interest in HighScope’s mission and commitment to furthering the foundation’s work. Early Math Education Specialist
We are currently seeking an Early Math Education Specialist who will serve as a coach, resource and advisor in Early Childhood Mathematics. This individual will work to ensure that HighScope's math curriculum is research-based, validated and differentiated to meet diverse preschool student's needs. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, teaching, curriculum and instruction or related field. Temporary Maintenance Assistant
We are currently seeking a Temporary Maintenance Assistant to assisting with the maintenance of the grounds and facilities. Duties include overall facility maintenance of all office and rental buildings in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This may include, but is not limited to, washing woodwork, landscaping, general carpentry; painting; repairing buildings; repairing and replacing parts on equipment; fixing plumbing, electrical, or heating systems within ability; carrying and moving boxes, office furniture and equipment; light cleaning if needed, and performing related work as required. This position will end at the close of summer, end date is flexible. Around 30 hours per week. Schedule is flexible but must be during daytime hours. Must have a high school diploma or GED to apply.
