This is week two of a four-week (120 hour) training course designed to lay the foundation for understanding the HighScope Preschool Curriculum and support teachers in implementing the curriculum in the classroom.
By the end of week two of PCC, learners will be able to:
- Implement adult-child interaction strategies (shared control, conversing with children, and entering children’s play) during work time.
- Identify ways to incorporate active learning and scaffolding into each of the following parts of the daily routine: small-group times, large-group times, greeting time, and transitions.
- Identify encouragement strategies and explain how to use each strategy effectively in the classroom.
- Develop a preschool lesson plan that incorporates curriculum content, children’s interests, and developmental levels.
You must complete all assignments on time and in the order they are listed. Upon successful completion (80% or higher) of all training, daily readings, assignments, and Check My Understanding quizzes for this week, Participants receive 3 IACET CEUs.
