This is week one of a four-week (120 hour) training course designed to lay the foundation for understanding the HighScope Infant and Toddler Curriculum and support teachers in implementing the curriculum in the classroom.
By the end of week one of ITCC, learners will be able to
- List the five ingredients of active learning.
- Explain how the Key Developmental Indicators (KDIs) relate to and support sensory-motor learning in infants and toddlers.
- Describe key guidelines for arranging and equipping play and care spaces for active learners.
- Develop a plan to incorporate materials that appeal to all five senses in their setting.
- Identify and explain strategies for ensuring predictability in infant-toddler daily schedules and caregiving routines while also maintaining flexibility to accommodate individual needs.
You must complete all assignments on time and in the order they are listed. Upon successful completion (80% or higher) of all training, daily readings, assignments, and Check My Understanding quizzes for this week, participants receive 3 IACET CEUs.
