Dr. David P. Weikart, a psychologist at with the Ypsilanti Public Schools, initiates the Perry Preschool Project at Ypsilanti’s Perry Elementary School in cooperation with Charles Eugene Beatty, where Charles Eugene Beatty was the first African-American principal in Michigan.
