9 IACET CEUs
This three-week (90-hour) learning event is designed to equip teacher support staff with strategies and skills in working with teachers in a strengths-based capacity to sustain the HighScope Curriculum implement the curriculum to fidelity. This learning event involves two weeks of intense training covering adult learning principles, developing training following HighScope’s format, integrating trainer facilitation and presentation strategies, building a strengths-based coach/teacher relationship, following a strengths-based coaching cycle, and implementing a focused observation and conversational feedback process. Participants complete assignments on each of these areas of trainer/coach content. Finally, participants will complete peer presentations and field questions during the last week of training. Upon successful completion (80% score or higher) of all training, daily readings, assignments, Check My Understanding quizzes, peer presentation, and the final trainer evaluation, participants receive 9 IACET CEUs and become HighScope Certified Trainers. (Note: Completion of the four-week curriculum training and PQA course, along with the reliability test for the appropriate age group [infant-toddler or preschool], are pre-requisites for the TOT and certification).
By the end of this learning event, learners will be able to:
- Identify each part of an effective agenda and plan a HighScope workshop.
- Apply strategies for sharing dialogue and using open communication with adults.
- Apply interaction strategies that will facilitate group understanding.
- Identify the components of the HighScope Strength-Based Coaching Cycle
- Identify ways to establish positive relationships and a partnership between the coach and teacher.
- Practice a focused observation and conversational feedback process that partners with teachers.
Important Information….
- Course Registration closes Two weeks before classes start. Late registrations cannot be accepted.
- If paying by PO, please complete online registration for all of your participants, and send in a copy of your web order with your PO to fulfillment@highscope.org.
- Participants will receive their welcome email with login instructions 1-2 days before class starts.
- Please provide a current email address to enable course communication.
- HighScope will grant refunds (minus the cost of student materials) to students only if they withdraw from the course prior to its start. Cancellation must be received by email to fulfillment@highscope.org.
