During this week-long overview of the HighScope Infant and Toddler Curriculum, caregivers will be introduced to its key components, equipping them to provide high-quality experiences for their young children. This is a hybrid learning event, run on HighScope’s online learning platform with regular Zoom sessions. By the end of this learning event, learners will be able to:
- Identify the ingredients of active learning.
- Describe supportive adult-child interactions that build trust and attachment with infants and toddlers.
- Create an infant-toddler daily schedule and caregiving routine that is predictable yet flexible and incorporates the ingredients of active learning.
- Identify guidelines for arranging and equipping the play and care space for active learners, including adding materials that appeal to sensory-motor learners.
- Construct lesson plans by combining knowledge about curriculum content, children’s developmental levels, and children’s interests.
- Plan engaging and developmentally appropriate group times with materials and group times with movement and music.
Learner Requirements:
Learners are required to participate in all Zoom sessions and activities. Learners will complete a Check My Understanding quiz each day and will need to achieve a score 80% or higher for successful course completion. Upon successful completion of this learning event, learners will receive IACET CEUs and a certificate of completion. This is a hybrid learning event, taking place on HighScope’s online learning platform with regular Zoom sessions.
Zoom Session Details:
9:00–12:00 Learners engage in course content with facilitator.
12:00–1:00 Lunch break
1:00–3:00 Learners engage in facilitator-assigned course content independently.
3:00–4:00 Learners engage in course content with facilitator.
Important Information….
- Course Registration closes Two weeks before classes start. Late registrations cannot be accepted.
- If paying by PO, please complete online registration for all of your participants, and send in a copy of your web order with your PO to fulfillment@highscope.org.
- Participants will receive their welcome email with login instructions 1-2 days before class starts.
- Please provide a current email address to enable course communication.
- HighScope will grant refunds (minus the cost of student materials) to students only if they withdraw from the course prior to its start. Cancellation must be received by email to fulfillment@highscope.org.
