Luis A. Perez-Batres, Ph.D.
Dr. Luis A. Perez-Batres is a Professor, Chair of the Department of Management, and Senior Presidential Fellow (2019–2020) at Central Michigan University (CMU). He holds a doctorate from Texas A&M University in strategic management and international business and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research, funded by the US Department of Education, rests at the interplay of international strategy and sustainability.
Dr. Perez has served in two official strategic planning efforts at CMU, first, as a member of the 2017–22 strategic planning team, and then as an administrative liaison for the 2030 strategic envisioning process. Other relevant service activities include his membership in CMU’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council (2018–19) and his honorary roles as Faculty Affiliate (2013–2017) and Visiting Scholar (2013) at the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan.
Before joining academia, Dr. Perez served as a financial advisor to several large brokerage firms and was an accountant at DuPont.
