SUMMARY:Daily Routine Overview for Preschool – Online
DESCRIPTION:2.5 IACET CEUs \nIn this six-week online learning event\, learners are introduced to the vital components of the HighScope preschool daily routine. Designed to empower educators in implementing the HighScope daily routine in their programs\, this learning event will include discussions on the importance of a consistent and predictable daily routine\, the basics of each segment of the HighScope daily routine\, and how adults can support children’s active learning throughout the daily routine. Learners will examine both child-initiated and adult-initiated parts of the day\, including arrivals and departures\, greeting time and message board\, Plan-Do-Review®\, cleanup\, group times\, read-alouds\, mealtime and snacktime\, naptime\, and outside time. \nBy the end of this learning event\, learners will be able to: \n\nDefine the components of the HighScope preschool daily routine.\nExplain the importance of the Plan-Do-Review® process and describe how it fosters children’s executive function skills.\nDemonstrate strategies for sharing control with children during group times.\nDescribe adult-child interaction strategies for supporting children during each of the components of the daily routine.\n\nLearner Requirements: \nLearners must complete all assignments within the learning event’s timeframe. This includes weekly learning units\, reading assignments\, Check My Understanding quizzes\, discussion posts\, and Try It Out assignments. Learners must pass each Check My Understanding with a minimum of 80% or higher and achieve a total overall score for the learning event of 80% or higher for full credit. \nOnline instructional activities may be started and stopped at the participant’s leisure over each week\, allows learners to complete coursework combined along with and informed by teaching. Learners will need access to a computer with sound and internet access to complete weekly assignments. It is recommended to use the Google Chrome internet browser when navigating through the course. SUMMARY:Program Quality Assessment (PQA) Infant-Toddler - Online
DESCRIPTION:2.7 IACET CEUs \nHow do we know that our programs provide meaningful experiences that produce strong outcomes for infants and toddlers? The Infant-Toddler Program Quality Assessment (IT PQA) tool allows programs to seek answers to this question. The IT PQA is a tool that helps gather data on how to best support staff development\, improve program practices\, and evaluate program quality. In this six-week online course\, participants examine assessment items centered on the topics of the learning environment\, schedules and routines\, adult-child interaction\, child observation and planning\, family support\, staff qualifications and staff development\, and program management. \nBy the end of this learning event\, learners will be able to: \n\nConduct classroom observations.\nWrite objective evidence to support their scores.\nReliably score each item on the Infant-Toddler Program Quality Assessment (PQA).\n\nLearner Requirements: \nLearners must complete all assignments within the learning event’s timeframe.
