HighScope Announces New Chief Strategy Officer
Brenda Leger is HighScope’s new Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of strategic initiatives to generate revenue in new and existing markets and to expand HighScope’s customer base for products and services.
Brenda’s focus on early childhood education began at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she received a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education. In her position as National Early Childhood Consultant at Kaplan School Supply Company in Lewisville, NC, she drew on her experiences as a child care worker, pre-K and kindergarten teacher, site director, and staff trainer. Brenda demonstrated a flair for identifying major trends and issues in early childhood education and honed her skills as a successful business development professional while serving as National Director of Early Learning and Online Curriculum at Scholastic in New York, and later National Director of Sales and Content at Teaching Strategies in Bethesda, MD. Her leadership, vision, and strategic direction ultimately led her to return to Kaplan to represent the company nationally and internationally as Chief Academic Officer and Vice President of Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Development.
Brenda is delighted to join the organization that started the early childhood movement. “The legacy and ‘call to arms’ of quality early childhood education started with HighScope,” she says. “As an early childhood advocate, I am humbled to be offered a strategic position to further the mission of the HighScope Foundation and thrilled to use my skills as an educator and a business professional to help identify, shape, and share the benefits of high-quality early childhood education and care.”
Brenda travels frequently for business and pleasure, but she happily returns to her home state of Arkansas, where she is the proud mom of two adorable children, an equally fascinating new son-in-law, and two large and charismatic puppies.
